Open Water Safety

We welcome all women no matter of your sea swimming experience. Open water swimming can never be completely safe but there are ways of reducing risks; we ask all attendees to listen to their bodies, never swim alone; acclimatise to the water temperature slowly; use a tow float if preferred and essentially familiarise themselves with water safety safety guidelines from HM Coastguard .

Warm hats and neoprene socks and gloves provide comfort and warmth whilst in the water and we strongly suggest you bring a towel, warm layers and a hot water bottle, if preferred for afterwards. B&B branded Big Bobble hats will be available to buy on the day (cash £30) with all proceeds donated to charity.

Entry to the water is at your own risk.

Lifeguard and ambulance support will be in attendance at West Sands Beach.
